MDSI Company History

MDSI was founded in 1992, as a contract manufacturer of souvenir cups for national account restaurant chains. The focus moved to "kid's cups" and over the years a number of new product categories have been added. The company's growth has been a direct result of our customers, who have requested the addition of other items.

All MDSI products are manufactured to exact specification at select facilities worldwide. We utilize a minimal number of facilities to maintain both quality control and volume pricing. All of our factories are inspected in compliance with industry standards. While MDSI has a stock product offering in each category, custom manufacturing is a very large portion of the business.

The staff at MDSI has vast experience in foreign manufacturing, importing, raw material specifications and chain restaurant operations. These skill sets combine to create a company that is able to relate to the needs of large chain accounts and convert those needs to products that fulfill the value equation of price/quality.

Our services include but are not limited to:

• Product Solutions and Sourcing – Our limitless manufacturing sources, experience in restaurant operations and raw material knowledge enable us to provide recommendations on product solutions that best fit your needs.
• Logistics – Recommend options, coordinate distribution, tracking of orders, etc.
• On-going Support and Contract Management – Custom reporting, product support, market trends, etc.

MDSI's customer list which began with Denny's has included such industry leaders as Red Lobster, The Olive Garden, Lone Star Steakhouse, Hardee's, Fazoli's, Logan's Roadhouse, Checkers, Cold Stone Creamery and Golden Corral.
